General English Language Refresher phase.
General topic areas pertaining to ATC operations are defined by customer requirements.
Specific areas can be related to communications, non-standard phraseology, actions relating to emergency situations or technical failures, review of ICAO Docs, safety management, Human Factors and operational best practice to name a few.
The course prepares the air traffic controller for conducting assessments and examinations of competency on both students for initial ATC qualifications, as well as currently qualified air traffic controllers.
The course is conducted by experienced and rated Competency Assessors and will encompass current ICAO training philosophies.
Course participants will undergo practical (simulated) and oral test exercises. Practical sessions will be carried out using Global ATS’ ATC simulators, utilizing generic aerodrome, approach and area control scenarios.
A comprehensive training schedule designed to impart all necessary ATCO skills and knowledge to ab-initio candidates.
This includes aviation English refresher workshops and assesments; basic induction modules; and full training in each core ATC discipline.
Designed for qualified air traffic controllers, the course aims to cover all aspects of On the Job Training Instruction (OJTI). It teaches prospective OJTIs to prepare, train, monitor, and assess both trainees in an initial qualification programme, as well as qualified controllers fulfilling Unit competency requirements.
The course incorporates theoretical and practical (simulated) instruction.
Conducted by experienced OJT Instructors incorporating current ICAO training philosophies, course participants will undergo theoretical classroom and practical (simulated) exercises.
Practical sessions will be carried out using Global ATS’ ATC simulators, utilising generic aerodrome, approach and area control scenarios
The Approach Control Surveillance Course is compliant with ICAO standards and recommended practices and meets the requirements and objectives for the ICAO 054 Course.
The ICAO 052 Aerodrome Control course covers air traffic management, procedures and all aspects of aerodrome control.
It provides a comprehensive grounding to Aerodrome operations in both Visual and Instrument conditions enabling entrants to operate in any aerodrome environment within or outside of controlled airspace.
The course combines theoretical and practical instruction encompassing exercises of increasing complexity designed to fully assess the written, verbal, practical abilities of each entrant.
The Aerodrome Control course also includes a visit to an operational facility so a better understanding of the teaching points can be gained.
A competency certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the course to the appropriate quality standards.
