Since 2015 GATS have been delivering training courses for Aerodrome Flight Information Service Officers.
The course is designed to impart the required theoretical knowledge and practical skills to enable candidates to pass examinations for both the Air Ground Communications Service Radio Operators Certificate of Competence and the written CAA Flight Information Service Officer examinations in the subjects of Meteorology & Navigation and Air Law & Procedures.
The GATS AFISO course also includes 1-to-1 practical training on an Aerodrome simulator to bridge the gap between Initial Training at the college and Unit Training.
GATS work closely with customers, the UK FISO Association and the UK CAA to ensure that the training syllabus goes above and beyond the minimum AFISO licencing requirements.
